Recruiting Working Group

CLI Colorado Recruitment Initiative
Defining a new paradigm for hiring that emphasizes factors which truly lead to success in the profession
while taking a critical look at more traditional hiring criteria
(grades & law school).

The Recruiting Working Group has developed three major initiatives:

1.  It has redefined hiring criteria so that legal organizations can adopt more inclusive recruiting practices. View their Inclusive Excellence in Recruiting Model.

2.  The Recruiting Working Group also sponsors Boot Camps for diverse 1L summer associates and interns at the federal courthouse at the beginning of June each year.

3.  In 2009, the group established an Internship Program for diverse 1L students at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and the University of Colorado Law School who apply to the Colorado Pledge to Diversity 1L Summer Clerkship Program.  Read information below about the Legal Diversity Internship Program.

Legal Diversity Internship Program

CLI increases support for diverse law students at DU and CU law schools by providing an alternative internship program for students not placed through the Colorado Pledge to Diversity Summer Clerkship program. With the permission of each student, CLI will forward the resumes of motivated and eager students to other firms and legal organizations that may be seeking paid or unpaid summer interns. Employers throughout Colorado are welcome to participate. View the 2012 Internship Program promotional materials.

Deadline:  Prospective Employers should notify CLI before February 1, 2012 of your intention to participate. Participants will receive student resumes in mid-March 2012.
