About CU Law

The University of Colorado Law School is a supportive and diverse community of scholars and students in a place that inspires ideas, critical analysis, and civic engagement. CU Law's students are selected from among the statistically best applicants in the nation and represent 100 undergraduate institutions and diverse backgrounds. The school offers a full-time, three-year day Juris Doctor (JD) degree program, certificate and dual degree programs in conjunction with the JD and three Master of Laws (LLM) degree programs. The clinics, centers, and programs focus on areas of strength, including environmental and natural resources, American Indian, juvenile and family, entrepreneurial, and technology law and policy.

CU Law's Office of Career Development and Colorado legal community are committed to helping students from diverse backgrounds build successful and satisfying careers through individualized career counseling, opportunities to work in legal organizations, and establishing relationships with legal professionals:

• Colorado Pledge to Diversity 1L Summer Program: Includes Denver's largest and most prestigious law firms that give diverse law students of color the opportunity to compete for 1L summer associate positions.
• Firm-Sponsored Diversity Clerkship Programs: Several Denver law firms offer paid clerkships for diverse students; learn more.
• Rocky Mountain Diversity Legal Career Fair: Legal employers seek to hire law students and graduates from culturally diverse backgrounds that have been traditionally under-represented in the practice of law.
• Diversity Clerkship Programs with Colorado Courts: The Colorado Supreme Court and Colorado Court of Appeals offer competitive internship programs for 3L students.
