CLI seeks a dynamic, experienced leader committed to diversity and inclusiveness in the legal profession to serve as its Executive Director. This individual will be responsible for CLI’s day-to-day administration, providing diversity and inclusiveness presentations to CLI members and the public, and driving future programing for the nonprofit. The Executive Director is appointed by and accountable to CLI’s Board of Directors.

CLI welcomes Jim Pinto as its new Chair of the Board of Directors. He has been a board member since CLI's inception in 2007 and has served as Vice-Chair since 2010. Jim is a shareholder at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, LLP, where he practices in the Intellectual Property & Technology Group, and is also the Co-Chair of the firm's Inclusiveness and Diversity Committee.

From now through April 2013, Colorado corporate law departments will partner with their outside firms that are also members of CLI on diversity and inclusiveness action items for a new pilot of CLI's Step Up for Diversity: Take Action to Build an Inclusiveness Legal Profession campaign. Corporate counsel will engage in five actions items that will help increase retention and advancement of female and diverse attorneys, including contacting female/diverse attorneys directly to begin developing relationships. More information.

Engaging white men is imperative for any successful D&I program. In the legal profession, white men make up the majority of practitioners and almost always are the crucial decision-makers whose buy-in is necessary for substantive D&I progress. . . CLI has been fortunate to have developed relationships with many white men who are D&I allies and champions—serving on CLI’s board of directors, partnering on initiatives, and ardently advocating D&I in their law firms and law departments. Programmatically, CLI has developed several resources on how to engage white men.
